HAAD EXAM

HAAD exam is a computer-base exam, with 150 items in multiple choice format. It covers Nursing Fundamentals, Maternity Nursing, Med-Surg Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing and Nursing Management and Leadership. Result for HAAD exam is made available just minutes after the exam, so be ready. List of successful applicants is also posted in HAAD website. If you fail, you can retake HAAD exam in 3 months.

 

HAAD Exam Registration and Scheduling in Pearsonvue Online:

  1. Create a web account at http://www.pearsonvue.com/haad/capva/.
  2. Meet all of the eligibility criteria for nurses in order for your application to be accepted.
  3. Your username and password will be emailed to you within the next 48 hours.
  4. Schedule your HAAD exam. Login to your Pearsonvue account or schedule it via phone by calling Pearsonvue hotlines for HAAD exam.
  5. Print your booking confirmation and bring it with you to the testing center.


Taking HAAD exam

If you have registered and scheduled to take HAAD exam in any Pearson Vue Testing Center, be reminded of the following:

 

Correct IDs. At least two valid, original IDs are required for admission in testing centers.

 

Booking confirmation. Print out the booking confirmation issued by Pearsonvue thru your email after you  scheduled.

 

Go to Test Center early.

What is HAAD?

The Health Authority - Abu Dhabi (HAAD) is the regulative body of the Healthcare Sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and ensures excellence in Healthcare for the community by monitoring the health status of the population. HAAD defines the strategy for the health system, monitors and analyses the health status of the population and performances of the system.


In addition HAAD shapes the regulatory framework for the health system, inspects against regulations, enforce standards, and encourages adoption of world - class best practices and performance targets by all healthcare service providers in the Emirate.


HAAD also drives programs to increase awareness and adoption of healthy living standards among the residents of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in addition to regulating scope of service, premiums and reimbursements rates of the health system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.


What is HAAD Examination?

The emirate of Abu Dhabi requries all medical professionals who wish to work in their area of jurisfiction to be registered at Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD). It aims to provide a solid foundation for licensing health professionals in Abu Dhabi by the use of assessment tools that measure core and specialist competencies required for each professional group.


Examination is very important to ensure that healthcare professionals licensed in the Emerate of Abu Dhabi are clinically competent and safe to practice in independent settings. To achieve this, different types of examinations are provided as follows:

Written

Oral

Practical

Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)

Computer-Based Testing (CBT)


The HAAD-RN exam can be taken in any Pearson Vue testing centers, the same system that conducts the examination for NCLEX.


Who is qualified to take the HAAD-RN?

HAAD examination can only be taken by those who passed the local Board's Nursing Licensure Examination. One should have an updated Passport together with his/her RN license. Preferably, one should be currently working or has a 2-year working experience - 1 year in the Medical-Surgical Ward & 1 year in a specialty area - in the hospital.


How do I register and schedule for HAAD-RN Examination?

Below are the steps for registration and scheduling at Pearson VUE:

Create your Pearson VUE web account,

You must meet all the eligibility criteria for your specialty in order for your application to be approved. Pearson VUE will email a username and password to you within 48 hours that you may use to schedule your examination date using the following options:

You will receive a booking confirmation by email within 48 hours for the date and location that you will sit the exam. What can I expect in the HAAD-RN exam?

The HAAD-RN is a computer-based exam, and is composed of 150 multiple choice items. One must answer all questions in 180 minutes or 3 hours. You may finish the exam before the time, not beyond. An instruction will be given by the proctor before the exam starts. You need to listen carefully and ask questions--if that's necessary for you--prior answering the exam. And of course, you are expected to be 100% prepared.


Are there any suggested materials to study for the HAAD-RN exam?

The test items in HAAD are quite similar to NCLEX so those who are about to take the HAAD exam can use the review materials  for NCLEX. Nurses who have taken the HAAD-RN exam aim to show the nurses basic and fundamental knowledge about the nursing profession.
